Name:This is for the name that the address belongs to.
Address:This is the one of the lines for the address.
Phone:This is for the telephone number.
UpArrow:\Smove forwards in the database.|MHold SELECT to go to the last record in the base.
DnArrow:\Smove backwards in the database.|MHold SELECT to go to the first record in the base.
Number:This displays the current record against the total number of records in the database.
Insert:\Sinsert a new address into the database at the end of the file.
Delete:\Sdelete the currently displayed address.|M\Ato create a new database from scratch.
Search:\Ssearch for a given name or something in the address.|MClick MENU for a list of all the names in this address book.|M\Ago to a specific numbered record in the database.
Save:\Ssave the file to where it was loaded. If it's just been created then same as \a.|MClick MENU to export the current record as a Text file, DDF file or Tag file or the whole database as a CSV file.|M\Asave the file where you want to.
MainW:This is the main Vicinity \w.|MClick MENU for more commands.

String:Enter the search string to search through the database for.
NamesOnly:When this box is ticked then the search will only search through the names instead of the names, addresses and telephone numbers.
Forward:When this box is ticked Vicinity will search from the next record otherwise it will start at the very beginning.
SearchW:This is the Vicinity search \w.|MPress return or click on Search to start the search.|MClick outside the \w to cancel or press ESC.
SearchB:\Sstart the search.
PreButton:\Senter '%0' as the search string.
# Goto window
GString:Enter the record number to go to in the database.
Goto:\Sgo to the numbered recorded.
GotoW:This is the Vicinity go to \w.|MPress return or click on Goto to go to the specified record.|MClick outside the \w to cancel or press ESC.
# File information window
FileInfo:Enter the name of the currently loaded address book because this is what this icon contains.
Records:This is the total number of records in the address book.
Altered:This says whether an address has been added or deleted or whether this address book has just been created.
Filepath:This is where the file was loaded from and where it will be saved.
Filedate:This is when the file was last saved.
FileinfoW:This is the Vicinity file info \w.|MIt displays general information about the address book and the file.

ThisName:This is the name of the person whose %0 Vicinity is %1.
DialNum:This is the number Vicinity is/will be dialling.
Status:This displays Vicinity's current status concerning the %0.
Prefix:If this is ticked then the number dialled will include the prefix defined in the Configure \w.
Reset:/Sreset the modem and cancel anything that it is currently doing.|MThis will not hangup if you've lifted the receiver on a phone connected by the same phone line.
Dial:/Sdial the number in the box above.
DialW:This is the dialling \w.
# Send to caret window
TypeW:This is the typing to caret \w.
TaskNam:This is the name of the task that is/will be receiving the record.
Cancel:\Sstop the record from being sent to the task.
Type:\Stype the record that Vicinity is currently displaying.
# Configurations window
DriverMenu:Click MENU to change the Serial Block Device Driver used for dialling.
Driver:This is the currently loaded Serial Block Device Driver being used for dialling.
Port:Enter the number of the serial port to use for dialling.
DialString:Enter the modem dial string.
ResetString:Enter the modem reset string.
PrefixString:Enter the telephone number prefix for dialling.
TextureMapping:If this is ticked then texture mapping will be used on the windows.
MaxEntries:Enter the maximum number of records that Vicinity can handle. The higher the number the greater the memory requirements.
Compression:If this is ticked then Vicinity will compress any bases that it saves using Condensation.
Configure:This is Vicinity's Configure \w.|MIt is for configuring the dialling option.
ConfSave:\Ssave these settings.
ConfOk:\Saccept these settings but not to save them.
ConfCancel:\Skeep the settings the same as they were when this \w was opened.
